Embryo transfer is a crucial step in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) cycle. The techniques and instruments used during the procedure are continuously improving. Introduction of trans abdominal ultrasound was a major milestone in the increasing the accuracy of the procedure. Adding an echo insert to the transfer catheter was another important, although incremental improvement. Yet, one of the serious obstacle to the consistency of the embryo transfer was unreliable visualization of the uterine cavity with trans-abdominal probe due to excess of the fat tissues, intestinal gases, unusual uterine position etc. The logical step in such cases would be using vaginal probe.
